Check out Urban Camper Hostel’s FAQ here. We have tried to collect all the most frequently asked questions about the bar and hostel so you can make sure you make the right choice when visiting Copenhagen.

Urban Camper Hostel's FAQ:

  • Urban Camper Hostel is a low-budget hostel-concept focusing on social and affordable accommodation for travelers keen to stray a little from the beaten tracks of Copenhagen. 
  • The theme is indoor camping, so when you stay with us, you’ll be camping in the city because we have pitched our tents inside an old office building so you’re safe from the weather outside.In true camping spirit, at our urban campground, you’ll get the genuine spirit of camping, but without the irritating discomforts of actual camping – no rain, no mosquitoes just a fun experience like no other. 
  • Our goal is to do both camping and hostel life with style and we hope that you’ll join us in the bar to meet your fellow urban campers and make new friends while sharing a drink or two. In short, we are like no other place and we really want to share the special feeling of the Urban Camper sentiment with you.
  • Since the tents are inside they are of course heated and nice and warm.
  • At Urban Camper Hostel you’re going to be camping in the city and that means sleeping in large tents inside. However. we also have two ‘normal’ rooms for those not in love with camping.
  • Check out the different types of accommodation we offer here to see what suits your needs best.
  • The tents cannot be locked, but there are lockers in each tent where you can store your valuables. 
  • The lockers in the tents for your valuables are 33cm wide, 46,5cm deep and 78cm tall.
  • These lockers must be locked with a padlock and you can either bring your own lock or buy one at the reception for 50 DKK.  
  • The padlocks we sell are 40mm wide and the shackle is 6,3mm.
  • The doors to the tent area are always locked and only people staying at the hostel have access to the tent area with their personal key card.
  • The two private rooms have a “normal” door and can only be accessed with a personal key card.
  • You can store your luggage before or after check-in in our luggage boxes for 20DKK per day
  • The luggage boxes have the following measurements: 80cm. tall, 80cm. deep and 46cm. wide.
  • Due to the concept and the setup, the hostel does not allow for families with children under the age of 17.
  • The age limit to stay at the hostel is minimum 17. Anyone between the age of 17 and 18 wishing to stay at the hostel must stay with a person over the age of 18 or have a signed parental authorization and always in a private room or tent. Furthermore, the booking must be made directly via our website and not via a third party. 
  • Email us on stay@urbancamper.dk for more info about age restrictions. 
  • Pets are not allowed in the hostel.
  • Check-in is available from 15.00
  • If you arrive early you are welcome to wait in our bar and common area while enjoying a drink or you can store your luggage in our luggage boxes for 20DKK and come back whenever you want to.
  • If you arrive after midnight the door to the street is locked, but just call us at +45 31 77 08 06 then the reception will come and let you in.
  • Check-out is at 11.00
  • Late check-out is possible until 13.00 for an extra charge of 85DKK.
  • In each tent, each bed has an allocated locker where you safely can store away all your valuables. 
  • There is a regular Danish 230V socket and two USB ports in each bed so you can make sure your batteries are always freshly charged.
  • Included in the price are also free linen, towels and Wi-Fi if you book directly via our website
  • Urban Camper has a large common area with a great social bar with a wide selection of craft beers and board games, pool and shuffleboard. Read more here.
  • You can rent bikes for 85DKK for 6 hours or 125DKK for the full day.
  • It is possible to do your laundry here for 20DKK for washing, including soap, and 20DKK for drying.
  • You can rent hairdryers for 50DKK during your stay.
  • We do not have a guest kitchen.

From Copenhagen airport:

  • Simply walk out of the arrivals area and walk straight onto the metro.
  • Get on the M2 towards Vanløse. 
  • Get off at Kongens Nytorv and change to the M3 via Østerport. 
  • Your stop is Nørrebro. 
  • Outside the metro, in front of you, you will see a building with the writing Nørrebro Bycenter on it – that’s us! 
  • Check-in is one the first floor.
  • Metro tickets and travel cards can be purchased inside all stations

By bus by the Central Station:

  • If you’re getting into Copenhagen by bus (like Flixbus), a short ride on the metro will take you to Urban Camper Hostel. 
  • You find the metro at the end of Ingerslevgade on the left side of the central bus station. 
  • Your stop is Nørrebro. 
  • Outside the metro, in front of you, you will see a building with the writing Nørrebro Bycenter on it – that’s us! 
  • Check in is on the first floor.
  • Metro tickets and travel cards can be purchased inside all stations.

By train from the Central Station:

  • If you’re arriving in Copenhagen by rail at Københavns Hovedbanegård, take the metro located behind the station. 
  • Get on the M3 via Frederiksberg. 
  • Your stop is Nørrebro. 
  • Outside the metro, in front of you, you will see a building with the writing Nørrebro Bycenter on it – that’s us! 
  • Check in is on the first floor.
  • Metro tickets and travel cards can be purchased inside all stations.
  • We offer parking 100 metres from the hostel at the cost of 75DKK for 24 hours.
  • There are both parking options outside or inside a parking basement. This basement is open from 10.00-21.00 on weekdays and from 9.00-20.00 on weekends. Outside these hours the basement is locked and cannot be accessed.
  • You can pay and register your car at the reception when you check in.
  • The hostel is located in a time-restricted zone of maximum 3 hours https://international.kk.dk/live/transport-and-parking/parking-in-copenhagen/public-parking-in-copenhagen 
  • Motor bikes must be parked under the same conditions as a car.
  • It is not possible to pre-book parking.
  • Bicycles can be parked free of charge behind the hostel. It is an outside area that is locked at night. 
  • Bicycles cannot be stored inside the hostel or inside your accommodation.
  • We do not accept cash payment for your hostel booking.
  • All bookings must be paid with a credit card with matching photo ID.
  • We do not accept Euros or any other foreign currency as payment in the bar or the reception.
  • Bookings can be made here. 
  • Walk-ins are welcome upon availability
  • We do not accept cash as payment for your hostel booking and bookings can only be paid by credit card with a matching photo ID.

  • Non-refundable bookings will be charged the same day as booked and cannot be refunded under any circumstances. The total price of the reservation will be charged if you cancel at any time. 
  • Flexible/standard bookings must be canceled at least 48 hours before date of arrival in order to get a full refund. 
  • If the flexible/standard booking is cancelled less than 48 hours prior to the arrival date, 100% of the reservation amount will be charged. The guest will be charged the total price of the reservation if they cancel less than 48 hours prior to the arrival date.
  • If you fail to show up for your booking without notifying the hostel you will be charged the full amount of the booking and the booking will be cancelled.
  • If you have booked via a third party such as booking.com or hostelworld.com please contact them in order to cancel your booking.
  • Everyone is welcome in our amazing bar and it is not only for people staying at the hostel.
